You can't set the toggle state of a zone, unfortunately.
As far as I understand your question: Why don't you just move the image out off the visible area (if the x-button is touched) and use the boolean variable as a way to define whether the thumbnail of the image should be highlighted or not. You could use the isZoneToggleOn but combine it with your boolean so that it does not really use the isZoneToggleOn boolean value but just the changing in combination with YOUR boolean to define what to be done. Or just use isZonePressed instead and check your boolean to define what should be changed. E.g. if the picture is outside the visible area, move it back to it's previous position.
